ode to mormon feminists
three decades later,
and the sisters rise,
again,
for the same crumbs,
symbolic though they may be,
never a whole loaf
to chase away hunger
lower your veil
for her sin
is your sin
a taint passed from mother to daughter
remember this shame
lower your veil,
it will conceal all
your flaws
and distort your vision
know your place, she says
you would say,
know your value.
